The organization form of the resort is a syntax of various temporality between the resort units and the existing surroundings/ interiors and exteriors. The intricate placement of the stairs on the building of Mykonos downtown represents the autonomous temporality of vernacular architecture, without the permanent boundary and restrictions of standardization, including the various scales of each rise and tread, different appearance of the details, variety of pavement patterns.

The project starts from collecting ten scenarios of staircases, from basic straight run staircase as a normal use to more wired split staircases which try to blend interior and exterior space. Some of them are normal size but multifunctional, some are pretty narrow size but creates some usable space underneath. All of these make us to think more deeper about relationship between  traditional element and functionality. Then we start to consider that what if we utilize such staircase profile to reinvent new architectural spaces and function without creating new forms, in the manner of intensifying local element profile, playing with different scale and combination.
